The Morongo Basin Community Response Team, or CERT, will hold a community disaster preparedness day Saturday, October 11, in the Walmart parking lot from 10 to 2. Representatives from SoCal Edison, the fire department, the Sheriff’s Department, ham radio operators, and others, will be at the event. There will be live demonstrations and free information on survival skills, basic first aid, disaster supplies and kits, water purification and storage, food storage and solar cooking, animal care, and more.
