CEREAL DRIVE BRINGS IN 11,000 SERVINGS

A cereal donation food drive sponsored by Hi-Desert Medical Center, Hi-Desert Publishing Company, and Z107.7 brought in more than 11,000 servings of cereal and $1,300 in cash to help feed hungry residents a healthy breakfast. The cereal food drive, which ran June 3-10 at Morongo Basin businesses, collected 18,255 servings of cereal through food and monetary donations. The donations benefit The Way Station food bank of Joshua Tree and FIND food bank of Indio. Stan’s Music of Yucca Valley was one of 15 local businesses participating in the cereal food drive, and it raised the most donations of cereal per employee and will be awarded an advertising prize package.
