While you are out celebrating Earth Day on Saturday, stop in at the Joshua Tree Astronomy Theater between noon and 11 p.m. for its Earth Rise event. Managing editor Tami Roleff fills in some of what you can expect at the day-long event…
An art, music, and astronomy festival is set for Saturday, April 20, at the Joshua Tree Astronomy Arts theater. The idea behind the event is to put positive thoughts and actions together for a healthy planet. The event begins at noon with an open mic poetry reading, group mosaic workshop and art project, telescopes fitted to view the sun, and more. Artists will have artwork for sale and musicians will play throughout the afternoon and evening. After dark, and until 11 p.m., there will be telescopes for deep-space astronomy and other cosmic visual presentations. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. The event is free, although donations are appreciated. The Joshua Tree Astronomy Arts Theater is located at 2601 Sunfair Road in Joshua Tree. For more information, visit the link below.
