A vegetation fire burned about 1.6 acres in Yucca Valley Monday afternoon.

County Fire Battalion Chief Mike McClintock said Yucca Valley firefighters, assisted by CalFire and BLM crews, were called to the 1-acre brush fire just east of the Home Depot shopping center at 3:06 p.m.

The crew had the blaze knocked down in about 20 minutes and contained it to 1.6 acres. McClintock said no structures were threatened by the fire.

After investigation, the cause of the fire is undetermined.
