Theatre 29 proudly announces the cast of “The Secret Garden.” The redemptive family tale of love, loss and renewal is under the artistic and musical direction of multi-award winner, Kathryn Ferguson. Ten-year-old Bella Oden plays the leading role of Mary Lennox. Charles Harvey will play the suffering hunchback, Archibald Craven; his brother Dr. Craven by Leonard Webber. In the ghostly role of Lily is Katie Van Sumeren. The sassy chambermaid Martha is Lisa Goldberg; newcomer Sarah O’Brien is the stone cold housekeeper Mrs. Medlock. Chris Fleischman portrays the puck-like nature lad, Dickon. Rory O’Brien will play the invalid son Colin. Ron Bottorff plays the curmudgeonly groundskeeper Ben. The chorus includes: Edward Pierce, Janet Peercy, Char Childs, Jasper Falmog, Martha Boyd, Malcolm Stanley-Wolfe, Jason Powell, Robert Ames, James Hodgson, Ceara Davids and Ashley Tydings.
“The Secret Garden” will play Friday and Saturday evenings at 7 p.m. from August 26 through September 24, with 2:30 Sunday matinees on September 4 and 18. Tickets are $8 to $15 and are available now at theatre29.org, or by calling the Theatre 29 box office at 760-361-4151.
