The St. Joseph’s Players of Yucca Valley announce the cast for their next production: Neil Simon’s highly acclaimed semi-autobiographical comedy/drama, “Brighton Beach Memoirs.” The coming-of-age play centers on the Polish-Jewish Jerome family of Brooklyn, New York, in late depression era 1937. This realistic story about the strength of family is full of warmth, humor, and heart. The show will open on Friday, October 10 and play weekends through Sunday, November 2. Local favorite Leonard Weber will portray Jack Jerome. The show’s director, Rebecca Havely, will play the role of his wife, Kate Jerome. Their son Stanley will be played by Vincent Thomas, and his brother Eugene will be played by Trevor Carpenter. Shelly Sheckler will play Aunt Blanche; in the roles of her daughters are Elizabeth Schmelling as Nora and Madison Tuttle as Laurie. The production also has openings for backstage volunteers to help throughout rehearsals and the run of the show.
