Carwash and online fundraiser for Yucca Valley man who died on Sunfair dry lake

A Yucca Valley man was killed in a dirt bike crash at Sunfair Dry Lake bed earlier this month, and the community is holding a car wash to raise funds for his fiancée and children.

Gary Ray Dean Austin was involved in the crash on November 4, and he sustained serious head injuries. He was hospitalized after the crash, and succumbed to his injuries on November 11. Austin was 22 years old and leaves behind a fiancée and two young children. Funds from the carwash will go towards funeral costs and providing financial support to the family during the difficult time.

The carwash will be held on Saturday (November 18) at Solar Now, located at 56624 Twentynine Palms Highway in Yucca Valley, and will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
