Carjackers in Twentynine Palms injured and forced a driver into the desert Thursday night. According to the Sheriff’s department, the driver, who was unnamed, was driving a vehicle with its windows down on Daisy Avenue near Highway 62 in Twentynine Palms around midnight. The victim reported being approached at a stop sign by three or four men who delivered punches to the side of the victim’s head before forcing themselves into the vehicle. The men then reportedly forced the victim to drive to an unknown area of the desert, then ordered the victim to exit the vehicle and walk blindly into the desert. According to the report, the suspects also took the victim’s wallet and cell phone.
