The Yucca Valley High School Track and Field team will be having a carwash Saturday from 9-3 at Yucca Valley High School. Proceeds will go to support the costs of fees and transportation.
Twentynine Palms High School swim team’s first meet was Wednesday against Apple Valley High in Apple Valley. The girls’ team won 99 to 70, with Alexa Herrera getting consideration time for her breast stroke. The boys team lost 53 to 103, even with only 5 boys swimming for the team this year, the boys got first place in six out of 11 events. Kenneth Johnson set the new high school record for the 200-Individual Medley.
Coming up in high school sports tomorrow, the Twentynine Palms High School Wildcat track team will be at Norco High School, starting at 8 a.m. The Wildcat softball and baseball teams will host Xavier College Prep High School at home. Baseball begins at noon; softball at 1.
