Two people were arrested Saturday, accused of stealing a car. Deputies were called to the 1000 block of Alta Avenue in Landers about 7 a.m. when the owner of a vehicle reported it missing. Evidence led deputies to Shane Harper, 25, of Landers, and Taylor Towne, 23, of Johnson Valley. Shane Harper and Taylor Towne were arrested for conspiracy, vehicle theft, and possession of stolen property, and on warrants for their arrest, and booked into the West Valley Detention Center. Shane Harper is being held on no bail; Taylor Towne is being held on $350,000 bail.
