A motorcycle rider was killed, and a female passenger was injured, in a crash in Yucca Valley Monday afternoon. According to County Fire Captain Danny Stamps, the unidentified male motorcycle rider was killed when a car made a U-turn in front of him and the motorcycle T-boned into the car at 5:19 p.m. Stamps said the driver of the car had turned eastbound out of the AM/PM parking lot at Balsa Avenue and Highway 62, and then made a U-turn and the motorcycle, which was also traveling eastbound on the highway, crashed into the car. The male rider, identified only as a Marine from the Twentynine Palms Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center, died at Hi-Desert Medical Center. The female passenger was taken to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs.
