A man escaped serious injury Thursday after his car rolled multiple times following a crash with a gravel truck. About 3:30 p.m., the unidentified driver in a four-door sedan collided with a gravel truck towing another trailer traveling eastbound on the Yucca Grade just below the top of the hill. The force of the collision caused the car to roll over multiple times, ending up on its roof in the number 2 lane of Highway 62. The driver was able to get out of the car on his own and initially refused treatment from paramedics, but he was eventually persuaded to go to Hi-Desert Medical Center as a precaution. The Sheriff’s Department is investigating the crash. Eastbound Highway 62 was closed for an hour following the crash.
