The Sheriff’s arson unit has been called in to investigate a suspicious car fire in Twentynine Palms early Thursday morning. According to a Sheriff’s report, a car fire was reported at 3:38 a.m. Thursday in the 73500 block of Buena Vista Drive. Witnesses reported hearing glass exploding. When firefighters arrived on scene the car was fully engulfed in flames. The report states it appears as though the arsonist started the fire near the cover to the gas tank and fled on foot.
