CANNED FOOD DRIVE AT THE TWENTYNINE PALMS FARMERS MARKET TOMORROW

The Twentynine Palms Farmer’s Market will be collecting cans of canned vegetables for the Twentynine Palms High School Interact Club’s annual Thanksgiving baskets. The club is preparing 500 baskets containing all the ingredients to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving meal for a family of four. Residents are urged to bring canned vegetable contributions to the OJ booth at the Farmer’s Market tomorrow or to a drop-off site at the Twentynine Palms Mobile Station.

Farmer’s Market organizer Roger Thomas said, “We need 1000 cans of veggies. Because of the weather, we closed last week so this Saturday is the last day. A friend bought 100 cans and I matched him and bought 100 cans, so we are 800 short.”

The Twentynine Palms Farmer’s Market is at Bucklin Park in downtown Twentynine Palms Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
