CANDIDATE FILING DEADLINE FOR JUNE ELECTIONS THIS FRIDAY

A handful of offices representing Morongo Basin will be on the 2016 presidential primary ballot on June 7. The last day for citizens to declare their candidacy and file the required documents is this Friday. Offices up for election include the U.S. Senate seat, now held by the outgoing Barbara Boxer; U.S. Congressman seat of Paul Cook; the 42nd State Assembly seat held by Chad Mayes, and the Third District County Supervisor seat now held by James Ramos. Citizens who want to run for any of these offices must obtain and file the appropriate documents at the County Elections Office, 777 E. Rialto Avenue in San Bernardino. That office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Completed candidate filing documents must be filed there by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 11.
