CAMPING AT JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK

Joshua Tree National Park is an ideal camping destination when you come prepared. ROP Broadcast Student Daneita Chestnut has a check list…
Many people from all over the map come to visit Joshua tree National Park. According to park rangers Sara Sutton and Lorna Shuman Visitors are allowed to camp in any of the nine designated campgrounds in an established sites, or they can camp in the backcountry if they are 1 mile off an established road and 500 feet from a trail or watering site. From October through May visitors are allowed to stay for 14 days and from June through September they can stay for 30 days. Visitors will need a tent, water, food, flashlight or headlamp, proper clothing for the weather conditions, sun protection such as a hat sunscreen and long sleeves, and a first aid kit. Camping in the backcountry will be free. For visitors camping in the designated camp sites, there will be a fee collection box in front of the campground to put their money in an envelope for the amount due. Reporting for z107.7 news, I am ROP Broadcasting student Daneita Chestnut.
