About 40 light poles feature banners along 29 Palms Hwy and Adobe Road in downtown Twentynine Palms, which are rotated seasonally and promote upcoming events and holiday seasons. The Public Arts Advisory Committee is soliciting desert artists to submit images of their original artwork to be featured on the banners. All artwork should be vertical, desert themed, and inspired by the Mojave Desert. Artist may submit more than one image for consideration. More information on the call for art and how to submit your artwork is available below.
The Public Arts Advisory Committee is helping the City of Twentynine Palms create a new set of banners that will celebrate the cultural arts in the Twentynine Palms region. The banners will hang during the summer months and other times in between the seasonal events.
Desert artists are invited to submit images of their original artwork to be featured on the banners, including photography, paintings, or pictures of three-dimensional artwork. All artwork should be vertical, desert themed, and inspired by our Mojave Desert flora and fauna. Artists may submit more than one piece for consideration.
The city will pay for all costs related to producing and hanging the banners, and artwork will be placed on the banners by the city’s professional banner designer. Artists will not be compensated for the use of their artwork but may use the public exposure of their artwork for publicity purposes and will be acknowledged on the city’s websites (29palms.org & visit29.org) and in social media.
