If you’re an artist with works that depict women who homesteaded in our desert community, the Twentynine Palms Art Gallery needs you. Here’s staff reporter Edica Gonzalez with a call for art…
The Twentynine Palms Visitor Center and art gallery has put out a call for art for its next exhibition, “Tough as Nails: Women Pioneers.” Artists should deliver their artwork Friday, September 30, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., to the Twentynine Palms visitor center and art gallery in downtown Twentynine Palms. Artwork should reflect the theme of the women who homesteaded and helped build our desert communities. The exhibition will be on display from October 1 through December 30. An opening art reception is planned for October 14, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Music and refreshments will be available. Artwork may be paintings, mixed media, photography, or three-dimensional work, and should reflect the theme of celebrating Twentynine Palms’ women pioneers. For complete guidelines, call Jon Beard at 760-367-7562. Reporting for Z107.7, this is Edica Gonzalez.
