Monday, Sept. 15, is the deadline to submit entries for the second annual juried Joshua Tree National Park Art Exposition set for December in Twentynine Palms. Artists can go online to www.jtnparts.org and read the guidelines on the Call for Art page, then submit their entries online or download and print the mail-in entry form. Entry is open to California, national, and international artists, age 18 and over. Entry fee is $35 for up to 3 images of original 2D or 3D artwork, depicting or inspired by Joshua Tree National Park. Cash awards of $6,000 and an Artist-In-Residence award are available. Joshua Tree National Park Art Exposition will be held on December 5 through 7, at the Oasis of Mara in Twentynine Palms. An opening reception and gala awards ceremony for the juried art exhibition will kick off the event on Friday night, December 5, at the historic 29 Palms Art Gallery at the oasis, and artwork in the exhibition will remain on display through December. The opening weekend will feature the art exhibition and live music, art demonstrations, nature walks, historic exhibits and talks, beverages and culinary delights. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend this exceptional event honoring the beauty of Joshua Tree National Park and the California desert.
