“It’s Gonna Be a Scorcher! – Impressions of Summer Heat” is the theme for the Art in Public Places summer exhibition at the Twentynine Palms Visitor Center and Gallery in downtown Twentynine Palms. The show will be on display July, August, and September. Artists are invited to submit one piece of original art for possible inclusion in this group exhibition on Friday, June 28, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Artwork should depict the theme and impression of summer heat in the desert. All work must be ready to hang or mount with professional wire and should be suitable for viewing by the general public. Complete exhibition guidelines are available at 29palms.org. An opening art reception is set for Friday, July 5, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., with refreshments and music.
