The call is going out for submission for the spring art exhibit at the Twentynine Palms Visitor Center. The theme is “Desert Critters”. Reporter Dan Stork tells artists the guidelines…
Artists are invited to bring one submission to the visitor center on Friday, March 29, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Work will also be accepted during the week of March 25 to 29, for artists who cannot deliver on the In/Out day. Artists are encouraged to explore the whimsical side of local life as represented by the wide variety of desert denizens that can be described as “critters.” (For an example of “whimsy,” see the picture accompanying this story online at kcdzfm.com.) As always, two- and three-dimensional pieces are welcome. There is no charge for entering a work, and pieces should be offered for sale. All work must be ready to hang or mount with professional wire or hardware and should be suitable for viewing by the general public. An opening art reception is being planned for Friday, April 5, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., with refreshments and music. The exhibit will continue in April, May, and June.
