CADIZ RELEASES WATER PLAN ENVIRONMENTAL REPORT

The Los Angeles-based Cadiz Company released the final environmental impact report for its proposed Mojave Desert water pipeline on Friday. Cadiz proposes to build a 43-mile pipeline connecting an underground water source, about 50 miles southwest of Needles, to the Colorado River Aqueduct. The project’s backers say the pipeline will allow them to deliver 50,000 acre feet of water annually to Southern California’s cities and suburbs. The Rancho Santa Margarita Water District in Orange County is the project’s lead agency. Its board is scheduled to hold a public hearing on the EIR on July 25. A link to the report can be found here.
