BYSTANDERS LIFT CAR OFF VICTIM IN 29 PALMS COLLISION

A Saturday (January 8) afternoon collision in Twentynine Palms has left a female passenger in critical condition. According to a Sheriff’s Department press release, deputies responded to the intersection of Desert Knoll Avenue and Twentynine Palms Highway just before 4 p.m. for a report of a major traffic collision. Additional information related to the call mentioned a passenger was trapped under one of the vehicles. Bystanders nearby ran to help and managed to lift the car and render medical aid. First responders arrived and transported an injured passenger to High Desert Medical Center where she was then flown via Mercy Air Helicopter to Loma Linda Medical Center in critical condition. The identity of the injured passenger has not been released.
