Butterflies will be the topic at the Hi-Desert Nature Museum’s Brown Bag Lunch Lecture, Thursday, March 19. Former Joshua Tree National Park Ranger Joe Zarki will provide information about the life history of butterflies, how to recognize the basic groups of butterflies, the differences between butterflies and moths, and more. The more common local species will be featured, as well as the desert plants that attract them. The lecture starts at noon; admission is $5 and free for museum members. The Hi-Desert Nature Museum is located in the Yucca Valley Community Center complex, on Dumosa Trail and Highway 62.
