BURGLARY AND WEAPONS CHARGES FOR MAN FOUND IN A VACANT HOME

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Friday morning after he was found inside a vacant home. According to a Sheriff’s report, shortly before 9 a.m., the owner of a residence in the 73200 block of Sun Valley Drive in Twentynine Palms arrived home to find a man, later identified as Eric Eddington, 22, inside the house. The owner said when Eddington saw him, he tried to leave through a window, but the owner and two employees with him managed to detain him. The owner told Sheriff’s deputies that when he told Eddington he was calling the police, Eddington pulled out a large knife from his waistband and brandished it at him. The owner said he was able to knock it out of Eddington’s hand without being wounded. After an investigation, Eric Eddington was arrested on suspicion of burglary, and on four warrants for burglary, petty theft, resisting arrest, and being under the influence of a controlled substance. Eddington was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with his total bail set at $225,000.
