BURGLARS ATTEMPT TO BREAK INTO JOSHUA TREE POST OFFICE

The Sheriff’s Department is investigating a burglary attempt at the Joshua Tree Post Office. Sometime between 5 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday, an unknown suspect entered the post office, on the corner of Hallee Road and Highway 62, and tried to break into the mail room from the lobby, which is open 24 hours a day. The door’s lock was damaged, and the suspect also tried unsuccessfully to gain entry to the room by going up into the ceiling above the door.
