BURGLARS ARRESTED AFTER BEING HELD AT GUNPOINT IN A WONDER VALLEY HOME

Three people were arrested Thursday, after they were caught breaking into a home in Wonder Valley and held at gunpoint by the home’s owner. According to a Sheriff’s report, the homeowner contacted deputies just after 6 a.m. Thursday morning to say he was holding Joshua Faux, 34, of San Bernardino; Robert Roberson, 27, of Twentynine Palms; and Vanessa Mendoza, 32, of San Bernardino; at gunpoint after he discovered they had broken the lock on his chain and were on his property in the 83700 block of 29 Palms Highway in Wonder Valley.

Shortly after calling deputies, the suspects attempted to flee in their vehicle, going through a wash. When the car became stuck in the sand, the suspects fled. Deputies soon located Faux, Roberson, and Mendoza. Joshua Faux was arrested for investigation of conspiracy to commit burglary and on warrants; he was booked into the Central Detention Center with his bail set at $200,000. Robert Roberson and Vanessa Mendoza were arrested for investigation of burglary, booked into the West Valley Detention Center with their bail set at $25,000 each.
