BURGLAR ARRESTED IN JAIL FOR ANOTHER BURGLARY

Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Landers man Sunday for burglary who had been arrested the day before and was still in jail. Sheriff’s say, Floyd Montoya, 32, was arrested by the CHP 2:30 Saturday afternoon for violating parole and two $25,000 warrants. He was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail and was being held without bail. Sunday, deputies were called to a home in the 55000 block of Paces Lane concerning a burglary that had happened on Saturday while the residents were away. The investigation led deputies to Montoya’s home, in the 3100 block of Dusty Mile Road. A records check showed that Montoya was currently in the jail for his felony warrants for being under the influence of a controlled substance. The Sheriff’s report states that Montoya admitted to the burglary, and the stolen sword, knives, guitar, and amplifier were returned to the owner. Floyd Montoya was arrested for investigation of burglary with an additional bail set of $25,000.
