The comedic musical whodunit “The Mystery of Edwin Drood” is open at Theatre 29. The Broadway hit show will run through June 27. Based on Charles Dickens’ unfinished novel, “The Mystery of Edwin Drood” recreates the lively, bawdy world of a Victorian-era British music hall. A distinguished company of actors attempts to tell the story of the upstanding young Edwin Drood, who mysteriously disappears, presumably murdered. But who did it? The audience has the final word, voting on who did the deed.
“The Mystery of Edwin Drood,” directed by Theatre 29 veteran Charles Harvey, will play Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:00 p.m. through June 27. There will be two Sunday matinee performances at 2:30 p.m., one this Sunday, June 7, and then June 21. Tickets are $12 regular, $10 seniors and military, and $8 for students with ID or children under 12. Tickets for all performances are available for purchase now at www.theatre29.org, by calling the Box Office at 760-361-4151.
