The Hi-Desert Boys and Girls Club is looking for Sponsors for their upcoming fundraising event. The “Rockin Raffle” will be held April 27th and features dinner along with singing groups lip-syncing to your favorite tunes. Reporter Kristy Lockhart has more on the event and where the funds will go…
The Boys and Girls Club is growing. In the past two years, they have tripled the number of students who come for tutoring, sports and club activities. Executive Director Sam Handley says some of these kids have no where else to go. Handley hopes to raise $20,000 to help expand educational programs. “We are running out of room and that’s a good thing. I like seeing us so full that at times we are using office space in here for these kids. We are making a dent, but we want to make more of a dent and things like the Rockin’ Raffle really makes it so we can do that.” The Boys and Girls Club is funded by grants and public donations.
