BoxoHouse will hold an open house for its current artist in residence, Hermann Niebuhr. Niebuhr is a South African painter who came to the Mojave Desert to examine “stillness,” and comparing and contrasting his experiences here with the South African Karoo desert. The open house is set for 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 31, at BoxoHouse, 62732 Sullivan Road in Joshua Tree. Take White Feather Road south and turn west on Sullivan Road.
