BOWLING FUNDRAISER SET FOR UNITY HOME

February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. About 25 percent of teenage girls are abused in their lifetime, and 50 percent of dating violence occurs in school. Unity Home, besides offering emergency shelter to victims of domestic violence, also tries to change violent behavior through education. Morongo Basin Unity Home, an emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence, will hold a fundraiser February 9. The fundraiser will be held at the Bowladium in Twentynine Palms from noon to 3:30 p.m. Anyone is welcome to participate, from solo bowlers to four-person teams. The cost to participate is $20 per person. There will also be a raffle, with the grand prize being four tickets to Knotts Berry Farm.
