BOTH JOSHUA SPRINGS BASKETBALL TEAMS BEAT DESERT CHAPEL

The Joshua Springs Christian School Lightning boys basketball team played the Desert Chapel Eagles last night and won 75-61. The win qualified Joshua Springs for playoffs and eliminated Desert Chapel from playoff contention Standouts were Dillon Lovejoy, who scored 30 points; Max Hart with 18 points; and Sam Velasco, with 17 points. All three players had their season high. The boys’ record is now 7-11, 4-7 Victory League. The last game of the regular season is against Public Safety Academy Phoenix on Thursday for Senior Appreciation Night. The game starts at 6:30 p.m.

The Joshua Springs Christian School girls varsity basketball team won their game against Desert Chapel, 26-19.

Eden Dufour led the team with 12 points. Chloe Hermanson and Jocelyn Wheeler both contributed six points each.  The team’s next game is Thursday at home against Public Safety Academy 5 p.m.
