A botany hike is planned through big Morongo Canyon. Here’s Managing Editor Tami Roleff with more…The Morongo Basin Democratic Club will sponsor a plant identification hike in Big Morongo Canyon Preserve, Sunday, April 17, from 9 to noon. The hike will be on the boardwalk through the preserve, and is wheelchair accessible. The hike will start with a brief introduction to plant names and identification. Participants should bring a hat, sunscreen, water, binoculars, and a magnifying lens. If you don’t have a magnifying lens, they will be available at the hike for $6.
