A Hollywood costume designer and author who lives in Joshua Tree and Los Angeles will read from her book “Wear and Tear: The Threads of My Life” at The Station in Joshua Tree Saturday. Tracy Tynan will read from her memoir in which each chapter is based on an item of clothing and the memories it inspires. Tynan’s book reading will benefit Mil-Tree, a non-profit organization designed to bring active-duty military and veterans together with civilians through art. The doors open at the Station, 61943 29 Palms Highway in Joshua Tree, at 6:30 p.m. and the book reading starts at 7 p.m. Admission is $10 and proceeds go to Mil-Tree.
