La Contenta Middle School was evacuated for about an hour this morning after a bomb threat was called into the school. School administration contacted the Sheriff’s Department. Sheriff’s Captain Jeff Joling said that while they did not consider the threat credible, in the interest of caution and safety they evacuated the school and deputies conducted a room-to-room search. Nothing threatening was found after a thorough search and students were released back to their classrooms at about 11:45 am. A Sheriff’s spokesman said they have opened a criminal investigation into the source of the threat.
