The Sheriff’s Department has confirmed that the woman’s body found in the desert in Yucca Valley Tuesday, August 2, is that of a woman who was reported missing August 1. According to the initial Sheriff’s report, Glenna Reed, 48, was arguing with her boyfriend in his vehicle about 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 30, near Sierra Vista and Hilton Avenues in Yucca Valley. The man told deputies he left his vehicle to cool down, and when he returned, Reed was no longer in the vehicle. A friend of Reed’s reported her missing Monday, August 1, and deputies searched the area on the ground and in the air for hours without finding her. Tuesday evening, August 2nd, a pair of brothers were hiking in the desert southeast of the 57600 block of Manzanita Drive and came upon a badly decomposed body and alerted authorities. The deputy coroner did not see any immediate signs of foul play or trauma. An autopsy has not been completed yet. Sheriff’s Lieutenant Mike Barta says as of Monday, no charges have been filed against Glenna Reed’s boyfriend.
