BOBCAT KITTEN RELEASED 3 MONTHS AFTER MOTHER KILLED IN TWENTYNINE PALMS

Three months after a bobcat kitten was captured inside a chicken coop in Twentynine Palms, she was released back into the wild near Joshua Tree National Park by an animal rescue organization. In mid-September, the chickens’ owner heard a ruckus in the coop and found the kitten inside the coop having a chicken dinner, with the bobcat’s mother outside. The mother got spooked and ran up a utility pole and was electrocuted. The owner captured the kitten and turned it into the Twentynine Palms Animal Shelter. The kitten ended up with the Fund for Animals facility in Ramona, which released the kitten–now about 6 months old–back into the wild near the national park about a week ago.
