To help stem the current surge in COVID-19 cases in San Bernardino County, the Board of Supervisors is limiting in-person attendance at their board meetings and creating opportunities for the public and Board members to participate virtually.
When the county board of supervisors meets virtually this morning, supervisors are expected to authorize the sale of a 1,700 square-foot surplus strip of land in Joshua Tree’s Sunburst Park to the Sportsman Club for use as a campground. The $9,200 proceeds from the sale will go to County Service Area 20 in Joshua Tree. And in a related matter, the board is expected to authorize submission of a grant application that, if approved, could see as much as $150,000 go toward the Desert View Conservation Area Improvement Project off Park Boulevard in Joshua Tree.
Live and recorded Board meetings are always available for viewing on CountyDirect. But starting with today’s meeting and until further notice, viewers will be able to offer live public comment over a dedicated audio line. The public is encouraged to participate virtually as seating in the Board’s meeting chambers in San Bernardino will be severely limited.
Information on how to participate in Board meetings will be published on the County’s public participation website
