The process of selecting a county supervisor to fill the third district seat vacated by now-state assemblyman James Ramos, continues tomorrow. Each of the four sitting county supervisors spent the weekend reviewing the applications of 48 contenders. Reporter Mike Lipsitz picks up the story from here…
Each supervisor was given the weekend to narrow the field of 48 contenders down to 10 based on their responses to a questionnaire submitted on Friday. Today, the clerk of the board will review each supervisor’s top ten. Any candidates nominated by two or more supervisors will move to the next stage—public interviews that will begin at a special meeting beginning at 9 a.m. tomorrow, December 11 at the County Government Center in San Bernardino. The board could name a new third district supervisor as soon as tomorrow or may continue interviews to this Thursday and name Ramos’ replacement at that time.
