BLYTHE MAN ARRESTED IN YUCCA VALLEY FOLLOWING EARLY MORNING PURSUIT

A Blythe man was arrested in Yucca Valley early Tuesday morning after he led deputies on a pursuit through the town. About 3 a.m. a deputy tried to make a traffic stop on a vehicle near Sage Avenue and Sunnyslope Drive in Yucca Valley. The driver, later identified as Richard Holt, 41, failed to yield, and led officers on a pursuit for about five miles through the town, before his vehicle became disabled near Camino del Cielo and Yucca Trail. Holt then got out of his vehicle and tried to run into the open desert on foot, but he was captured by deputies without incident a short time later. Holt was found to be a wanted parolee at large with an active arrest warrant for residential robbery in Victorville. During the investigation, deputies found ammunition and body armor in Holt’s possession. A passenger in the vehicle, Paula Vidales, 36, of Ontario, was arrested for investigation of conspiracy to commit a crime, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with her bail set at $25,000. Richard Holt was arrested on suspicion of felony failure to yield and being a felon in possession of body armor, along with his warrants for robbery, making criminal threats, and assault with a deadly weapon. Richard Holt was booked into the West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $100,000.
