Desert Blood Services will conduct a community blood drive in Twentynine Palms Today and Yucca Valley tomorrow. Blood donations will be taken today at Little Church of the Desert, 6079 Adobe Road, from 2 to 6 p.m. Blood donations will be taken at Vons in Yucca Valley, tomorrow from 2 to 5 p.m. Donors will receive incentives. In addition, Desert Blood Services now offers donors free cholesterol screening with every blood donation. Donors may review screening results 48 to 72 hours following their donation at www.DesertBloodServices.org. A total count of “good” and “bad” cholesterol will be given. All prospective donors should be free of infections or illness, weigh at least 110 pounds, and not be at risk for AIDS or hepatitis. To make an appointment to donate blood, call 877-827-4376.
