BIGHORN WATER LOOKS AT EXPANDING THEIR DISTRICT BOUNDARY

Indications are that the Bighorn-Desert View Water Agency may soon get a little bit larger. Reporter Mike Lipsitz explains…
At last night’s almost three-hour meeting of the Bighorn-Desert View Water Agency Board, directors gave the greenlight for the Local Agency Formation Commission, or LAFCO, to start the ball rolling on the annexation of a single, 640-acre parcel just outside the water district’s boundary but within its sphere of influence. LAFCO is likely to approve the annexation as the request originally came from LAFCO on behalf of the property owner. Also last night, the board set the fiscal year’s appropriation limit at just over $165,500, approved the write off of $1,200 in bad debt, and received a presentation on recent tank inspection and cleaning activity. Those items and others were in addition to regular reports and items on the consent agenda.
