Last night in Landers, a new director was appointed to the Bighorn-Desert View Water Agency board of directors. Reporter Mike Lipsitz tells us who it was and how it went down…
Last night, David Chapman of Flamingo Heights was appointed to fill the board seat left open following the resignation of long-time water agency director Michael McBride in June. Five eligible candidates applied for the appointment, but the field was quickly narrowed when one contender was a no-show, and another withdrew her nomination due to a developing family medical issue. Chapman has been vying for a director seat for several years; he emerged the winner following a public interview process and board vote. A retired general contractor, teacher, and school administrator, Chapman immediately took the oath of office and his place on the dais.
