Out of last night’s meeting of the Bighorn-Desert View Water Agency, good news for staff, not such good news for the ratepayer with the humongous water bill. Reporter Mike Lipsitz fills us in…
In preparation for the next fiscal budget, directors for the water agency that serves Landers and Flamingo Heights last night looked at annual pay raises. And based on the Social Security Administration’s annual cost of living adjustment, they approved for staff a 2.8 percent cost of living increase plus the possibility of an additional 2.5 percent merit-based increase. As for the customer with the $3,700 water bill following a leak first discovered and arrested by the district, the board offered a no-interest payment schedule but nothing more.
