BIGHORN DESERT VIEW WATER CONSIDERS A NEW HIRE TONIGHT

Consideration of a new hire is on the agenda at tonight’s special meeting of the Bighorn-Desert View Water Agency. Reporter Mike Lipsitz joins us again, with has details…
The Bighorn-Desert View Water Agency Board of Directors convenes in special session at 6 p.m. tonight. Tonight’s meeting is in place of the regular fourth Tuesday board meeting. On tonight’s agenda, the board will consider authorizing part-time employment of a Certified Emergency Manager who would be hired under the title of Grant Manager. If approved, the new hire will develop and submit applications for an update to the district’s Hazard Mitigation Plan as well as a planning grant for pipeline projects noted in the existing plan. Tonight’s only other action item is consideration of board attendance at the Fall Conference of the Association of California Water Agencies. Those items are in addition to routine items on the consent agenda and reports from the staff and general manager. It all happens at the agency’s board meeting office under the old water tower on Cherokee Trail in Landers.
