Last night in Landers, directors of the Bighorn-Desert View Water Agency met in special session where they were briefed on plans for a smooth July first transition from county water to the agency. A handful of local residents who will be impacted by the takeover turned out to express their interest and approval of the process. Also last night, directors approved purchase of two five-acre parcels for $12,400 with the expectation for deeding one parcel’s easement to Caltrans for $3,100 as part of the highway widening effort. And the board lent support to a proposed employee funded post-retirement health insurance program described as similar to a COBRA plan.
