The Bighorn Desert View Water Agency Board of Directors holds the regular monthly meeting at 6 p.m. tonight. Topping tonight’s agenda is a public hearing and board vote on a proposed 5 percent increase in director’s per diem compensation to $121.55. Also tonight, the board is expected to set the ad valorem tax for the coming fiscal year, adopt the agency’s budget for fiscal 2016-2017, and receive a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association. It all happens at the agency’s board meeting office under the old water tower on Cherokee Trail in Landers.
