The water district serving Landers and Flamingo Heights residents took up a wide-range of topics last night. Reporter Mike Lipsitz was there…
In Landers last night, the Bighorn-Desert View Water Agency Board of Directors awarded an almost $250,000 contract for pump replacement at four wells to Tri County Pump Co. out of San Bernardino. Also last night, directors authorized the general manager to execute an agreement to accept a $50,000 grant from Mojave Water Agency. The grant will pay for a Uranium Treatment Options Analysis. And from the ad hoc committee looking into the water agency’s “pool” (as in “car pool”) vehicle options, an exhaustive market evaluation pointed to the Subaru Ascent. In other business, the board opted into a lobby representing water districts with interests similar to those of Bighorn-Desert View. The district will make a two-year commitment for $10,000 annually, plus travel. And among the last items of business, directors decided to preapprove up to five per-diem days for relevant workshops and training seminars.
