The water agency responsible for delivering clean water to residents of Landers and Flamingo Heights meets tonight. The public is always welcome; reporter Mike Lipsitz tells us what is on the agenda…
Tonight’s 6 p.m. meeting of the Bighorn-Desert View Water Agency in Landers will open with a brief presentation from Mojave Water Agency General Manager Tom McCarthy followed by a closed session meeting with legal counsel on existing litigation. Later, directors will consider a request for bill relief at a property where theft appears to have driven up water charges. In other business, directors will establish the appropriation limit for fiscal 2019/2020, and likely authorize the general manager to enter an agreement with a firm that will provide paleontological, cultural and biological survey services related to California Environmental Quality Act, or CEQA, requirements related upcoming project proposals. It all happens under the old water tower on Cherokee Trail in Landers.
